This research has implications for home sellers and buyers, contractors and insurance companies.<\/p>\n<p>Researchers analyzed 167 dust and material samples from buildings damaged by mold, including some buildings flooded in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina. It was discovered that 67 percent of the samples contained at least one mold toxin.<\/p>\n<p>The study suggests that toxins produced by mold are more dangerous than was previously considered. The research team will continue to study the health effects of mold.
